The Tuareg are a Berber-speaking nomadic people scattered across Algeria, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Libya, and Nigeria. Often known as the “Blue People of the Desert” because of their distinctive indigo-dyed clothing, the Tuareg have a rich cultural heritage and a strong tradition of independence and resilience.
The majority of Tuareg communities practise Islam, particularly Sunni Islam, alongside cultural traditions shaped by their Berber heritage. Christian witness among the Tuareg remains very limited, making them one of the peoples for whom sustained prayer, culturally appropriate Gospel engagement, Scripture access, and discipleship are especially important.

1. Pray for divine encounters among the Tuareg.
Ask the Lord to move among Tuareg communities throughout the Sahara and Sahel, drawing people to Himself through dreams, visions, conversations, Scripture, and other meaningful spiritual encounters that point them to Jesus.
Scripture: “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof...” — John 3:8
2. Pray for Tuareg believers.
Pray for the small number of known Tuareg believers, that God will connect them with one another and provide strong Christian community, access to Scripture, mature discipleship, and opportunities to grow in faith.
Scripture: “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works...” — Hebrews 10:24–25
3. Pray for culturally equipped missionaries and media workers.
Ask God to raise up Berber-speaking and Tamashek-speaking missionaries, translators, media producers, and other Kingdom workers who can communicate the Gospel clearly and respectfully within Tuareg cultural contexts.

4. Pray for Scripture translation and audio resources.
Pray for continued efforts to translate and record Scripture in Tamashek and other relevant language varieties, so that Tuareg communities can hear and engage with God's Word in languages they understand deeply.
Scripture: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” — Romans 10:17
Over the Tuareg: The desert is not empty in the sight of God; it holds multitudes yet to hear His name.
We declare that the Lord is raising messengers who will go into places that have remained difficult to reach, carrying the light of Christ with humility, wisdom, courage, and love.
Doors of access will open, Scripture will reach hearts and homes, and a new generation of Tuareg believers will arise to carry the Gospel within their own communities and beyond.
The light of Christ will shine across the Sahara and the Sahel.
